Your responsibilities will include database design, implementation, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure the availability and reliability of database systems. Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Design and Implementation: \xef\x82\xb7 Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to design and implement PostgreSQL database solutions that meet business requirements. \xef\x82\xb7 Ensure optimal database schema design, indexing, and partitioning for performance and scalability. 2. Database Administration: \xef\x82\xb7 Install, configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL database software. \xef\x82\xb7 Create and manage database instances on AWS RDS/Aurora or EC2 instances. \xef\x82\xb7 Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures. 3. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: \xef\x82\xb7 Monitor database performance and proactively address issues to ensure optimal performance. \xef\x82\xb7 Identify and implement performance tuning strategies, including query optimization and indexing. 4. Security and Compliance: \xef\x82\xb7 Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard sensitive data. \xef\x82\xb7 Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards. 5. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: \xef\x82\xb7 Configure and manage high availability solutions such as streaming replication and logical replication. \xef\x82\xb7 Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of a failure. 6. Automation and Scripting: \xef\x82\xb7 Implement automation scripts for routine database tasks using tools like AWS CLI, Python, or other relevant technologies. \xef\x82\xb7 Work on infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate the deployment and maintenance of database environments. 7. Collaboration and Documentation: \xef\x82\xb7 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. \xef\x82\xb7 Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. 8. Capacity Planning: \xef\x82\xb7 Monitor database growth trends and plan for scaling resources as needed. \xef\x82\xb7 Recommend and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure sufficient resources for future demands. Qualifications: \xef\x82\xb7 Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. \xef\x82\xb7 Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, preferably in an AWS environment. \xef\x82\xb7 Strong understanding of database design principles, performance optimization, and security best practices. \xef\x82\xb7 Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly Aurora/RDS, EC2, and related tools. \xef\x82\xb7 Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. \xef\x82\xb7 Knowledge of database migration strategies and tools. \xef\x82\xb7 Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
