The opportunity:
Being the driver for Business Development - Retail & Transit Vertical (Hardware and Solution Sales) you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing new business opportunities, and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the retail industry and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Business Development with a strong background in the Retail and Transit domain to manage our hardware and solution sales
Key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic responsibilities • Incubation of Retails & Transit product and solutions business vertical
• Build a robust long term strategy and frame a comprehensive business plan for penetration in Retail and Transit vertical
• Facilitate products and solution development for offering in Retail and Transit ecosystem
• Liaise with ecosystem partners like Switch, Processors, Card schemes, Regulators, TSP e

• Business Development:
• Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets in Retail & Transit products and solutions.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by analyzing market trends and customer needs.
• Create and execute effective sales plans to expand the company's market presence and customer base.
• Sales Management:
• Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring a high conversion rate.
• Build, Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals, setting clear objectives and providing ongoing coaching and support.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
• Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers.
• Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Develop customized solutions to meet the specific requirements of clients
• Market Research and Analysis:
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform business strategies and product development.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
• Collaborate with partners and vendors to enhance the company's product and service offerings.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and present regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market conditions to senior management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.

• Part of any Technology Framework development like UPI , etc will be added advantage
• Knowledge of Global retail and transit technologies and regulatory issues/compliance (Example what is used in say Africa, Latin America etc, what are local ecosystem)
• Working experience with both product and services technology
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the retail domain.
• Proven track record of managing hardware and solution sales, achieving sales targets, and driving business growth.
• Strong understanding of the industry, including its challenges, trends, and regulatory environment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
