To be successful in this role, deep expertise in authorization solutions and event-driven architecture, microservice architecture and the ability to influence and lead technical teams are musts.This AVP will lead the development and the production support of Synchrony\xe2\x80\x99s Authorizations platforms by creating and developing thoughtful solutions to anticipate bugs and maintain operational excellence. Do you consider merchant and customer experience in your decision making?Have banking and finance chops: Boasting good understanding of payment processing industry is a must.Key Responsibilities:Monitors, maintains and accountable for overall stable operations on Synchrony\xe2\x80\x99s Tandem / HP NonStop platformsServes as a HP NonStop Solution Engineer to support non-functional requirements in the development, deployment and ongoing tuning as necessary.Invokes timely critical thinking to address the reliability of deployed releases and/or solutions\xe2\x80\x8bMaintains tight coordination with Tandem HP NonStop Scrum Leaders and Developers to ensure all deployment practices are expeditedInfluence multiple agile development teams through all phases of the Agile development life cycle through SAFeImplement new technologies and assist developers as they migrate to new technologiesArchitect authorizations applications across the full stack, experience in HP NonStop, microservices ecosystem, JSON, and RESTful API\xe2\x80\x99s are a mustConducts code and design reviews with internal and external service providersReviews, understands and recommends updates to coding and technical design standards and practices for the POS authorization teamsAssume a broad set of tasks that aim to improve authorization software performance and reliability from wing to wingResearches and recommends alternative actions for problem resolutionInfluence and collaborate with software developers, product owners, application architects, and customer application experts to create amazing appsMentor and influence all levels of the team: in this role, you will have the opportunity to influence up and down the chain of commandEnsure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards set by SynchronyAssist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology architectural strategy, along with our application modernization and migration roadmapParticipate in Agile scrums consisting of cross-functional teamsLead Agile sprints as the technical expert, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint reviewsEnsure application code quality through development, test, and QAParticipate in addressing root cause analyses, incident reports and provide direction in problem resolutionAbility to analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, and implement fixesPassionate about the latest technologies, open source projects and languagesProvide 24x7 on-call support periodically throughout the yearIdentify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performanceWork with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into the company\'s productsDesired Characteristics:Experience with Tandem / HP NonStop platforms architecture and operating system and fundamental languages, ie., COBOL, SCOBOL, TACL Database.Understanding of specifications used in the payment processing (ie, ISO 8583)Experience C++, Java, Kafka, DevOps and Agile based DevelopmentExperience with database architecture, data modeling and familiarity with MySQL & SQLFamiliarity with JSON, REST and XML based web servicesWorking knowledge of the overall payment processing industryExcellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peersExperience with writing unit, and integration test cases for high availabilityStrong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization and partner with global development companiesDesire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environmentExperience developing and supporting financial/banking applicationsExcellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management and external groupsStrong attention to detail in a team environmentStrong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution optionsEligibility Criteria:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with minimum 6+ years of experience with solution architecture OR, in lieu of degree, 8+ years of experience with solution architecture.Minimum 5 years of application development experience.Work Timings: 02:00 PM to 11:00PM (IST)For Internal Applicants:For Internal Applicants: Understand the criteria or mandatory skills required for the role, before applying.Inform your Manager or HRM before applying for any role on Workday.Ensure that your Professional Profile is updated (fields such as Education, Prior experience, Other skills) and it is mandatory to upload your updated resume (Word or PDF format)Must not be any corrective action plan (First Formal/Final Formal, PIP)L9+ Employees who have completed 18 months in the organization and 12 months in current role and level are only eligible.Level 9+ employees are eligible to applyGrade/Level: 11Job Family Group: Information Technology
