We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AVP- Climate Risk Regulatory Compliance Principal responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and programme management for the integration of Climate Risk Management within the broader Regulatory Compliance (\xe2\x80\x98RC\xe2\x80\x99) Risk Framework including but not limited to Policies, Risk Taxonomy, Control Library, Governance and Reporting and MI / Data.
  • Be a subject matter expert in all areas of Climate Risk as they pertain to Regulatory Compliance risk management.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across HSBC including subject matter experts on all areas of Climate Risk. Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, supporting in working groups, obtaining required inputs and ensuring progress is well understood.
  • Deliver complex data changes, including development of MI and integration of new data within risk processes including Risk Appetite, Risk Profile, Governance and Reporting.
  • Ensure Climate Risk initiatives are developed and implemented in line with overall HSBC Climate Change programme.
  • Communicate confidently with stakeholders, supporting the ongoing management of working groups and other meetings.
  • Prioritise planned projects and tasks, whilst effectively managing and challenging requests for unplanned work. Ensure relevant and appropriate internal controls are applied, and their effectiveness can be evidenced.
  • Identify solutions to emerging risk issues, changing priorities, project completion issues and areas of conflict.
  • Draw, formulate and communicate conclusions, recommending further actions, where required.t





Requirements
  • Knowledge of Climate Risk is required.
  • Knowledge and experience of supporting large change projects, including development of project plans and leading working groups.
  • Business Processes \xe2\x80\x93 Candidates should have an overall understanding of the different types business of HSBC and the types of products offered by each. Knowledge and experience of the major product suites across HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s businesses
  • Stakeholder Engagement \xe2\x80\x93 Candidates must feel confident engaging with senior stakeholders directly. Candidates must be able to build effective working relationships and provide robust challenge and feedback where necessary without compromising those relationships
  • Risk Frameworks \xe2\x80\x93 An understanding of the concepts supporting a risk management framework, the lines of defense and how they interact and how a risk profile is established, with key risks identified and appropriate controls mapped.
  • Regulatory Compliance Risks \xe2\x80\x93 Knowledge of the wider regulatory environment risks and some idea of the likely regulatory risks and upcoming changes and understanding of the global regulatory environment and key compliance risk trends
  • Understanding and experience of policies, systems and processes used at HSBC.
  • Knowledge and experience of the use and application of risk appetite tools
  • Experience in either 1 Line of Defense or 2 Line of Defense preferably Climate risk
  • Proven track record of supporting complex projects within a team, delivering results on time and on budget, and managing own time effectively.
