Automobile Electrician
Job Description
install, maintain, inspect, and repair the electrical systems in vehicles. They work on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, and agricultural equipment. Some of their responsibilities include:
• Diagnosing issues : Using electronic diagnostic equipment to identify electrical problems
• Repairing and installing : Fixing wiring, circuits, and lighting systems, and installing new interior electrical systems
• Testing : Testing vehicle wiring, headlight alignment, and intensity
• Using tools : Operating hand and power tools, and using special instruments and welding tools
• Collaborating : Working with other mechanics
• Maintaining safety : Maintaining safety standards and complying with company health, safety, and environment management system requirements
Auto electricians need to have a comprehensive knowledge of installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting. They also need to be technologically savvy and regularly update their skills and knowledge. Auto electricians can work for auto service centers, automotive electrical specialists, motor vehicle repairers, large transport firms, and vehicle dealerships. They may work in motor vehicles, at workbenches, or provide mobile and roadside repairs.
