:About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 11S&P Global - CorporateAbout the Role: Automation Development EngineerThe Team: The selected candidate will be part of the S&P Global Technology\'s Cloud and Infrastructure, DevOps and Automation team to work on our infrastructure and development automation tools. As a part of our DevOps team, you\'ll help us build tools to assist internal S&P customers in their DevOps adoption journey. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our systems, empowering our development teams to deliver high-quality software with speed and agility. If you\'re passionate about leveraging automation to enhance cloud infrastructure and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, we want you to be part of our team.Responsibilities and Impact:Design, implement, and maintain web-based tools to assist internal customers accelerate their DevOps journey, with a particular focus on Frontend UI design and usability (UX).Write clean, modular, and well-documented code, and conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability and robustness of frontend components.Work with the team to make sure all solutions we provide are engaging and intuitive to use, self-documenting that users will enjoy using.Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions to meet business needs.Conduct regular evaluations of applications we build and identify areas for optimization, improvement and remediation of technical debt.Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in web development, DevOps and automation.Collaborate with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.What We\'re Looking For: We are seeking a proactive and innovative individual who is passionate about leveraging technology to drive organizational transformation. Additionally, a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends is essential, as we seek individuals who are eager to explore new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and enhance our DevOps tooling capabilities.Basic Required Qualifications:Master\'s or Bachelor\'s degree in technology or engineering required.Minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Development with a focus on frontend technologies to include HTML, CSS and Javascript frameworks, especially React.js.Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and design patterns, with the ability to translate design mockups into functional user interfaces.Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Additional Preferred Qualifications:Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols.Process-oriented with great documentation skillsKnowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available serviceReturn to Work: Have you taken time out for caring responsibilities and are now looking to return to work?
