Key Responsibilities:
• AutoCAD Drafting & Design:
• Develop and modify detailed AutoCAD drawings for railway infrastructure projects, including track layouts, station designs, and other civil/structural components.
• Ensure that designs meet technical and regulatory standards, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work closely with senior engineers to translate conceptual designs into detailed construction-ready drawings.
• Data Processing:
• Process, analyze, and manage data related to railway networks, infrastructure, and geospatial data.
• Clean, validate, and organize data to support GIS applications and railway planning tools.
• Support data migration tasks, ensuring that data is transferred, stored, and processed efficiently across systems.
• GIS Mapping:
• Assist in creating and maintaining Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases for railway projects.
• Support GIS data mapping, analysis, and visualization using industry-standard software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Ensure that railway network data is accurately represented in GIS, including track, signaling systems, station locations, and environmental features.
• Integrate GIS data with other software applications for improved railway planning, route analysis, and asset management.
• Railway Infrastructure Support:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (civil engineering, surveying, and project management) to ensure that GIS and AutoCAD solutions meet project requirements.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and route planning by providing geospatial data and analysis.
• Help with the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation for ongoing railway infrastructure projects.
• Quality Control & Reporting:
• Perform regular quality checks on GIS maps, AutoCAD drawings, and data to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of project progress reports, highlighting key developments and challenges related to data and mapping.
• Technical Support & Training:
• Provide technical support to team members and clients on AutoCAD, GIS, and data processing tools.
• Assist in training junior staff or contractors on software usage, project standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD drafting, GIS mapping, and data processing, preferably in railway or infrastructure projects.
• Software Proficiency:
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD for drafting and design.
• Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo) for data mapping and spatial analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Understanding of railway infrastructure components, such as tracks, stations, signaling systems, and associated civil works.
• Experience with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, geodatabases, raster data, etc.).
• Knowledge of data management principles and data quality assurance.
Desirable Skills:
• Familiarity with Railway Engineering standards and practices.
• Experience with other CAD or GIS related tools (Civil 3D, Bentley Map, etc.).
• Ability to work with 3D modeling in AutoCAD for railway projects.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment, with good time management and organizational skills.
