About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Statutory Auditor to join our audit team in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting statutory audits of financial statements, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards, regulations, and legal requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and a keen eye for detail to assess and verify the accuracy of clients' financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Statutory Audits: Plan, execute, and complete statutory audits in accordance with UK auditing standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Financial Analysis: Review and analyze financial statements to ensure they provide a true and fair view of the company's financial performance.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and assess areas of significant risk and ensure appropriate audit procedures are applied.
• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, standards, and regulations, including the Companies Act 2006.
• Client Management: Work closely with clients to understand their business, provide valuable insights, and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports, management letters, and other documentation as required, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members and contribute to the development and mentoring of junior staff.
• Continuous Improvement: Keep up-to-date with changes in audit regulations, accounting standards, and best practices.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Professional Qualifications: CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience: Proven experience in statutory audit within a professional services firm or similar environment.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software tools.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Ethical Integrity: High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
