Key Responsibilities:
• Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits of financial and operational processes, including reviewing transactions, financial records, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Audit Planning: Assist in the development of audit plans and strategies based on risk assessments, ensuring all critical areas of the transport operations are covered.
• Document Verification: Examine and verify the accuracy of financial and operational records, including freight bills, transportation invoices, fuel expenses, and vehicle maintenance costs.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that the company complies with financial reporting regulations, transport industry standards, and tax laws. Monitor adherence to internal control processes.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies or risks within transport operations (such as fleet management, route optimization, or fuel management) and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Fraud Detection: Investigate potential fraud or discrepancies related to financial transactions, vendor contracts, driver payments, or inventory handling within transport operations.
• Audit Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, risks, and recommendations for process improvements. Present findings to senior management and suggest corrective actions.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze transport and logistics expenses such as fuel costs, maintenance, and fleet depreciation to ensure proper accounting and financial control.
• Risk Assessment: Participate in risk assessment activities, particularly related to financial and operational risks in the transport business, such as loss of goods, driver accountability, and vehicle-related expenses.
• Liaison with Departments: Work closely with the finance, operations, and logistics teams to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth audit operations.
• Regulatory Audits: Assist in the preparation and support for external regulatory or financial audits, ensuring all documents and processes are compliant with national and regional laws governing transport operations.
• Data Accuracy: Verify the accuracy of data input into financial systems, including billing, revenue recognition, and payments related to transportation services.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience: 2-3 years of experience in auditing, preferably within the transport, logistics, or related industries.
