Job Summary:
The Audiologist Technician is responsible for assisting audiologists in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with hearing and balance disorders. The technician performs various tasks, including conducting hearing screenings, administering audiometric tests, maintaining equipment, and providing patient education and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct hearing screenings and assist with diagnostic audiometric testing.
• Prepare patients for evaluations and treatments, including explaining procedures and obtaining medical histories.
• Maintain and calibrate audiometric equipment.
• Assist with hearing aid fittings and adjustments.
• Provide instruction on the use and care of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
• Maintain patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Clean and maintain audiometric testing rooms and equipment.
• Assist in research projects and educational programs related to audiology.
• Provide support to audiologists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in audiology or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of audiometric testing procedures and equipment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
