We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Robotics Teacher to join our MY STEM Lab team. The successful candidate will inspire, teach, and guide students in building and programming robots, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning in our state-of-the-art robotics lab. This position requires a strong background in robotics, engineering, and education, with a commitment to developing innovative and interactive robotics programs for students in grades 9th to 12th.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development & Delivery:
• Develop and implement an engaging robotics curriculum in line with ATL guidelines and industry best practices.
• Introduce students to various robotics concepts, including hardware, programming, and automation.
• Customize lesson plans to cater to students' varying skills and abilities.
• Integrate technology, coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Arduino, microcontroller, etc.), and physical computing to enhance learning.
• Hands-on Project Supervision:
• Oversee student projects, guiding them through the design, building, and programming of robotic systems.
• Encourage creativity and innovation, while promoting problem-solving and teamwork among students.
• Organize and supervise robotics competitions, exhibitions, and inter-school events.
• Student Assessment & Feedback:
• Assess students' progress through regular tests, quizzes, and project evaluations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students, focusing on improvement and skill development.
• Support students in refining their projects, ensuring they understand the principles of robotics and engineering.
• Collaboration & Professional Development:
• Work closely with fellow teachers and the ATL coordinator to align robotics curriculum with overall school objectives.
• Attend professional development workshops and training to stay updated on the latest robotics technologies, trends, and teaching methodologies.
• Mentor students for robotics competitions, exhibitions, and collaborative projects.
• Lab Management:
• Maintain the robotics lab by organizing tools, kits, and resources efficiently.
• Ensure that all equipment and materials are in working condition, making purchase recommendations when necessary.
• Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the lab environment.
• Community Engagement & Outreach:
• Conduct workshops, seminars, and events to promote robotics education within the school and the wider community.
• Engage parents, local professionals, and experts to help further student understanding and interest in robotics.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Educational Qualifications :
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Teaching certification or experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong proficiency in robotics platforms such as VEX Robotics, Lego Mindstorms, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.
• Experience in programming languages like Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge of CAD software and 3D printing technology is a plus.
• Teaching Experience :
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience in robotics or STEM education.
• Experience in creating engaging, student-centered lessons and activities.
• Soft Skills :
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and passion for working with children and youth.
