You\xe2\x80\x99ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. This position focuses on leading and reviewing the actuarial work of associates/senior associates relating to Appointed Actuary and audit support work, as well as performing/reviewing a variety of other consulting projects of an actuarial/statistical nature as required. The position will be required to effectively communicate actuarial concepts to co-workers and clients, including non-actuarial audiences. This also includes significant amounts of coaching, training, direct supervision and resource planning.Responsibilities:Consulting (45%)Project management relating to Appointed Actuary workManage various actuarial consulting projectsPrepare/review reports and presentationsCommunicate with clients regularly to ensure all needs will be met timely, and present resultsCommunicate with PwC Canada RMS on a regular basis with respect to projects and executionAudit Support (30%)Act as the actuarial specialist and provide audit support by performing and reviewing reserving analysesCoordinate with clients, other professionals in the firm, team members with respect to the above tasksCoaching & Resource Planning (15%)Train and mentor associates and senior associatesUpdate outdated processes used by associates and senior associates when necessary in alignment with PwC Canada RMS Best PracticesResolve project issues and challenges brought up by associates and senior associatesHiring and resource managementOther tasks & responsibilities (10%)Requirement:Minimum 5 years of relevant actuarial experience in the insurance industry with Canadian products and regulationsExperience managing small teams of 2-3 associates and senior associatesEducation:Min. Qualification - Bachelor\'s degree in any of the following areas of study;
Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Economics, Other related fields of Study may be consideredCredential --Associate of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent) required
