Job Title: Assistant Manager Systems and Process (Production Department)
Department: Production
Reports to: Production ManagerJob Overview:The Systems and Process Manager in the Production Department is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role focuses on analysing production workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and integrating new technologies or methods to streamline operations. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, maintenance, planning and IT, to ensure that systems are well-optimized and aligned with overall business goals.Key Responsibilities: * Process Design & Optimization:

  • Analyse existing production processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Design, model, and implement optimized production workflows to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Kanban) to eliminate waste, improve cycle times, and enhance productivity.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment or technology to improve production capabilities and reduce costs.
  • Capacity planning and layout designing
  • Systems Integration & Automation:
  • Develop and implement systems for better integration of different production stages, ensuring smooth coordination between machines, workers, and materials.
  • Work with IT and engineering teams to integrate automation systems, ERP software, and other digital tools into the production process for improved tracking and real-time data monitoring.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) to ensure efficient operation of production lines.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance overall production performance.
  • Use data-driven methods, such as Six Sigma or Statistical Process Control (SPC), to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintain high levels of quality.
  • Focused approach towards developing KAIZEN culture
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • This position is also responsible for Line Quality Assurance
  • Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that all systems and processes adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to ensure consistent quality across all production activities.
  • Perform regular audits of processes and systems to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Pre-Despatch Inspection of machines, Line Quality Audits, Managing supplier claims, claim analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret production data to provide insights into system performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards or reporting tools to communicate key production metrics to management.
  • Conduct performance reviews and present recommendations for process or system upgrades.
  • Training & Support:
  • Provide technical support to production teams during the transition to new systems or processes.
  • Train employees on the use of new systems, equipment, and production techniques to ensure effective adoption.
  • Create and maintain training materials to ensure consistent knowledge sharing across the production department.
  • Safety & Risk Management:
  • Ensure that all production systems and processes are designed with safety as a top priority, adhering to both company safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new systems or processes and recommend preventive actions to minimize risks.
  • Support safety audits and inspections in the production area.
  • People Management:
  • Promote a culture of safety within the production team and lead safety initiatives for new projects.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production workers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Provide guidance and support to ensure high levels of engagement and productivity.xe2x80x8b
  • Monitor individual and team performance, conduct regular evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans as necessary.xe2x80x8b
Key Requirements:
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma- Green Belt
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in production, systems engineering, process engineering, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hand on experience in Quality Management System
  • Hands-on experience with process optimization, systems integration, and automation in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, or similar production-related software.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, automation, and smart manufacturing technologies.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 or similar standards.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex production systems and workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and production systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment, control systems, and process optimization tools.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and provide training.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position with working hours typically in Shifts or General shift depending on the business requirement.
  • The role involves a combination of office-based work and on-site supervision in the production area.
  • Occasional travel to vendor sites, other production facilities, or project locations may be required.
