Their vision for India is an energy and mobility system that is clean, affordable, and accessible.Position Overview:The organization seeks exceptional candidates to fill an Associate position supporting their work in Indias Climate and Mobility Finance Sector. This position will aim to accelerate Indias finance flows required to transition to a clean energy economy for all. The work will involve a range of tactical market engagements, thought leadership, techno-economic analysis, policy support, and demonstration projects across the identified sectors.As an Associate/Senior Associate, you will be a creative problem solver who uses your quantitative, technical, and analytical abilities to conduct compelling research and assessment around climate finance in India. The work will include research and supporting projects around enabling greater flow of EV finance in the country in addition to projects focused on how Indian banks can accelerate their efforts to mobilise net zero aligned finance. You will collaborate with team members to craft visionary yet practical solutions for our research questions and clients.You will also be an independent contributor and work closely with colleagues on projects under the direction of more senior staff. You will develop expertise in the content area of your specific programme within the organisation and will provide subject-matter support on that topic to other members of the organisation.Core Responsibilities

  • Provide quantitative analysis, and support to our projects.
  • Locate and manage high-quality data that sheds new light on problems and solutions.
  • Create innovative problem-solving approaches to drive project insight.
  • Support review of policies, schemes, and initiatives around the identified sector, synthesising recommendations into clear and compelling presentations and written publications, including but not limited to reports.
  • Support the development of business models for creating and sustaining a market for new innovative technologies and solutions.
  • Support the development of concept notes and proposals.
  • Engage with external experts via phone interviews, conferences, and on occasion, respond to outreach requests.
  • Structure and guide the work of more junior team members.
  • Design and create approaches and quantitative models to effectively address critical questions and challenges posed by our research goals and clients.
  • Contribute publicly at conferences, share expertise in response to media requests, discuss our work with donors, and direct research collaborations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in an applicable field, such as finance, development economics, public policy, economics, business, energy-related sectors, environmental science
  • Masters in an applicable fieldpublic policy, finance, business with an emphasis on energy and/or environmental sustainability
  • At the Associate level, 2+ years of cumulative work experience and at the Senior Associate level, 3+ years of cumulative work experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: Climate Finance, EV Finance, Passenger Mobility, Electric Vehicles, Electricity, Energy Storage, Green Hydrogen, Cooling, Building Materials, Housing
  • Experience in policy formulation and implementation.
  • Experience working with development sector consulting institutions, private, public, and not-for-profit institutions.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively while also collaborating with team members across disciplines and geographies.
  • Curiosity, humility, optimism, and enthusiasm to solve the toughest challenges in Indias energy transition and climate-aligned development.
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, including the ability to break down complex issues in a straightforward, logical manner.
  • Strong soft skills, including a collaborative, patient persistence to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Personal qualities: intellectual curiosity, flexible mindset, highly collaborative, and a passion for impact and environmental sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications for Candidates Applying for Climate Finance Position:
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience or Postgraduate degree in the mobility sector/ climate finance sector.
  • 1-2 years of specific experience working around Indias climate finance landscape including:
  • Familiarity with recent updates on climate finance policies by RBI, SEBI, MOEFCC
  • Familiarity with Indias EV financing ecosystem including latest developments from NBFCs, banks, multi-lateral development banks,
  • Awareness of climate finance commitments, reporting and strategies being developed by Indian banks,
  • Knowledge of international climate finance trends and key developments.
  • Strong network/ familiarity with active stakeholders in the climate finance community in India including think tanks, academia, government stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of EV technology, policy, and infrastructure and familiarity with Indias EV stakeholder ecosystem.
  • Prior experience of working with government stakeholders on projects that require complex multi-party coordination and management
  • Demonstrated success managing client or stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to listen actively, be diplomatic, and communicate complex ideas.
Additional Qualification:
  • Ability to travel 20-30 per cent of the time (as public health conditions allow)
  • Evidence of good work references.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading projects that involve quantitative analysis.
