Are you energized by a procurement role where you can drive efficiency and shape procurement objectives across the site? If so, this General Procurement Specialist role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.

As a General Procurement Specialist, you will partner with the local Site team to support the implementation of new processes and procedures. In addition, you will also work to reduce total costs to the site through the negotiation of contracts.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

• Support the implementation and compliance of Global Procurement processes, policies, guidelines, and strategies

• Manage the interface between Procurement and the Site, balancing the expectations of both Procurement and Site stakeholders

• Develop and implement robust Procurement strategies for local categories of spend that clearly meet business requirements

• Adapt and respond to regularly changing business requirements

• Support the development of a long-term vision for all local purchasing categories to support the growth of GSK

• Negotiate contracts and support the reduction of end-to-end total costs of the Site

• Balance both strategic and operational requirements to limit interruption of the supply and impact to the GSK revenue system

• Coordinate support from multiple Category teams across the matrix to manage relationships with other Procurement staff remotely

• Manage the Site supply base to meet GSK\xe2\x80\x99s requirements of assurance of supply, quality, regulatory, service, cost, and innovation to control costs in a fast-moving environment

• Support the development of the long and short-term plans to improve Procurement processes to enhance the overall performance of the Site

• Evaluate and mitigate risk associated with long standing local suppliers and single sourcing

• Associate degree
• Experience with procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, or supplier development
• Experience with cost benchmarking & financial audit with key supplier and legal matters (contracting)

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree
• Ability to work in high pressure environment, often under tight deadlines
• Ability to operate and influence across all business units and across multiple disciplines
