ROLE PURPOSE -
Maintaining good agronomy of the crop
Execution of breeding projects as per the site work instructions and procedures.
Experiment data documentation, analysis and reporting
Handling Line purification program
Handling leaf samping projects
Coorodinating with breeding, trialing & enabling teams
Train and monitor technical staff
Ensure stringent safety and regulatory guidelines
Strictly adhere to Syngenta Quality standards, Compliance & report deviations
2. ACCOUNTABILITIES
Direct people responsibility: NA
Authority level:
Responsible for local activities
Work coverage:
Independently perform field operational activities according to standard operating procedures
Identify areas for process and technical improvements and provide solutions to increase the quality of the experiments.
Effective Maintenance of breeding trials
Plan and coordinate resources for conducting trials
Ensuring timely labor supply by coordinating with the vendors
Farm equipment maintenace
External & Internal stakeholder management
Asset management & auditing
Responsible for:
End to end PLP activities & hand off
Total agronomy of the trials
Timely leaf sampling, shipment & coordination with genotyping lab team
Execution of planned trials as per the timelines
Administrative responsibility:
Timely reporting of results to breeding team
Train and monitor the work done by technical workers to achieve accurate results
Close interaction & coordination with Breeders & Enabling teams
Ensure all operations conducted within stringent safety and regulatory guidelines
Financial responsibility:
CAPEX: ensure timely delivery of CAPEX items & payments to vendors
Planning the resources: Placing the indents & ensure the availability of resources at the right time
Ensure timely submission of bills & make sure timely payments to the vendors in close coordination with the admin team
Qualifications 3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Critical Knowledge
Masters degree in Life science (preferable), Agriculture with working experience in field operations (preferably in Rice).
Basic Knowledge in Plant breeding & Agronomy
Critical Skills
Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power point) for data documentation and analysis.
Basic ability to communicate both (Verbal and Written) in English and local language (preferred) or Hindi
Good Interpersonal and communication skills
Critical Experience
2-4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in farm operations or breeding
Successful academic training with good knowledge in life sciences
Plan & execute \xe2\x80\x93 properly plan & execute the projects in a timely manner.
Communicate with impact \xe2\x80\x93 timely communicate & coordinate with the team.
Resilient \xe2\x80\x93 able to withstand or recover quickly from sudden changes/unforeseen situations.
