Shared Service Banking Operations (SSBO) delivers industry utility solutions by aligning the right functions, people, processes and tools into 14 core disciplines offering tailored client service levels that are efficient, controlled and compliant with regulation.
Client Onboarding and Regulatory Services (CORS) is an Operations group within SSBO that is responsible for adherence to client regulatory requirements during the life of the client's relationship with Morgan Stanley. This includes Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Client Reference Screening, Know Your Client (KYC), and other non- KYC AML regulations such as MIFID, QIB, QFC, Dodd Frank, EMIR, HKPI, etc.
The team is comprised of regulatory SMEs that provide support and regulatory control to global Business Units and stakeholders. The teams work on cross-functional projects in support of changed or new regulations, processes and controls that have an impact across the Firm coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Central Change and Technology.
CORS has a global footprint with offices in Hong Kong, Bangalore, Tokyo, London, Baltimore and New York.
Quality Control:
The Quality Control team works closely with CORS Run the Bank (RTB) functions, Internal Risk, Audits, and Compliance teams to implement a standardized approach towards the data quality control framework. The team is primarily responsible for performing data quality checks of completed KYC cases, identifying / escalating issues, and reporting KRIs to stakeholders.
What you'll do in the role:
• Quality Control Specialists are expected to stay current with all regulatory changes and requirements around client KYC, Suitability and Documentation
• Performing quality control testing and driving process improvements
• Reviewing customer databases (i.e. data checks on the core system of Morgan Stanley and review of the records of existing clients)
• Raising and escalating potential quality assurance, process or policy issues
• Reviewing data and documentation to ensure they meet regulatory requirements
• Providing status reports and escalating issues to management, as appropriate
• Partnering with the KYC production team to collect required documents and associated information to meet all regulatory and internal polices
• Act as a subject matter expert on required AML/ KYC documents and process
• Share knowledge and experience with team members to ensure a consistently high level of performance
• Leading detailed analysis with line staff and wider Ops groups to proactively identify, analyze and quantify manual inefficiencies and determine how processes can be improved with available resources and tools
• The team partners closely with the Compliance and Risk Divisions and other groups within Operations to help the Firm's Business Units comply with certain regulations around data and/or documentation requirements.
• The main focus of this role is to be an active part of quality control team, learning and checking all applicable regulatory programs and performing the necessary control functions.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree
• Minimum 8 years' experience working in an AML/KYC role required - Checker / QA
• Strong risk and controls awareness
