Job Overview:
The Associate Project Accountant utilizes existing Project Accounting procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Project Accounting and Finance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assist the project accountant in the maintenance of internal financial control of the project
• Ensure that invoices are rendered to clients on a timely basis according to contract terms and that project costs are correctly processed and recorded
• Responsible for client audit interface
• Work with project procurement and subcontract functions to report commitment amounts
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, including project cash flow, and review with the project management team in the absence of the project accountant, work directly with the project cost controls to prepare project cost reporting and review project profit estimates
• Assist in updating the Cost and Commitment Tracking System
• Align and coordinate with other departments on project-related financial matters and maintain this interface throughout the life of the project
• Assist the project accountant in the preparation of percentage of completion calculations
• Provide input to the receivable's accountant for the weekly cash forecast
• Assist the project accountant in the review and analysis of the costs charged to the project
• Manage accounts payables processing for the project
Essential Qualifications and Education:
• 0-3 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting required
• Strong technical, teamwork, and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage tight reporting schedules
• Experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
• Knowledge of ERP accounting software (HR Systems are a plus)
• Experience with consolidation software is a plus (Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Financial Planning)
• Experience in the Energy & Construction Industry is a plus
• Payroll Knowledge and experience a plus
