The Test Engineer Lead Consultant is a technical leader in the organization. The Test Engineer Lead Consultant provides oversight and guidance across quality control automation throughout the organization and focuses on the creation/execution of automated test scripts on medium to high complexity projects. Also, the Lead Consultant provides direction and leadership on test strategy, script execution, test automation framework and test environment design, designs and implements test automation architecture and designs, modifies and enhances the test automation framework. .

Your role through a combination of technical knowledge and owning testing will be to ensure quality is built into a new product from the start so that it is seamless, on demand, automated and invisible.

The ideal person / persons will be a good collaborator, having excellent problem solving skills and leading projects, along with having working knowledge of Performance Testing in complex and large environments, be passionate about delivering quality products, focus on performance engineering and had exposure to Services Testing.

Job Responsibilities

• Define and Implement performance test strategy that enables and supports a continuous integration/ development pipeline, work across multiple teams to ensure that strategy is implemented and followed
• Provide technical and strategic leadership on performance engineering and maintain high complexity modifications to performance testing architecture and framework
• Work cross-functionally with Product owners, operations team to define workloads and performance requirements. Participate in roadmap discussions and identify key areas for improvement
• Adept in workload modelling aligning to the architecture and product needs. Articulate Non-functional requirements, and model work load based on expected production loads
• Performance Testing, troubleshooting and triaging issues for AllState\xe2\x80\x99s new generation applications (Web, API and Mobile apps) in testing and production environment
• Collaborate with delivery partners and developers to build solutions on testing and automation to achieve CI/CD
• Consult and provide direction on test environment issues (highly integrated environment) and act as SME for external environment team communications
• Quality advocate across the enterprise mentoring and leading junior team members to influence quality across all areas including development, business, product management etc.
• Decision maker and problem solver across all teams influencing strategies and technologies for best practice
• Assess areas across the enterprise and lead teams to anticipate and prevent potential issues (Performance and non-performance) and articulate dependencies to the stakeholders
• Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint and iterative development activities prepared to take on any role within an Agile team and participate in Sprint planning, release planning and backlog refinement, retrospectives

Primary Skills

• Collaboration skills across multiple teams, and effective communication
• Provide technical leadership and guide junior team members on multiple projects and assist in troubleshooting
• Experience using Performance Test Tools (Performance Center, LoadRunner, JMeter etc..)
• Sound understanding of Performance Testing concepts and hands on Scripting, Testing and debugging using various tools (Fiddler, Network Analyzer etc..)
• Performance Testing of web and API\'s and tuning, troubleshooting and identifying performance bottle necks
• JVM analysis Understanding (Heap dump analysis, thread dump analysis and tuning activities) and identifying bottlenecks within the code
• Strong in design of test framework, load simulation model, load stats calculations
• APM tools such as DataDog / Dynatrace or others
• Good understanding of Java, Web technology including HTTP headers, HTTP Verbs (post, put, patch get, etc), memory leak analysis, networking and system metrics
• Understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure a plus
• Demonstrable use of at least one Service testing tool: SOAP UI, Ready API, Postman
• Usage of systems that support Continuous Integration (CI systems) - GitHub, Maven, Jenkins etc

Desirable skills:

• Knowledge and understanding of Rest and Web Services in relation to Performance Testing
• Some exposure to automation tools such as Selenium
