Join us in powering the progress of global aerospace.Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for resources in Mechanical Design Engineering domain to work in areas such as Structural Test & Instrumentation Installation Design for existing and future production aircraft testing purposes. This position will be located in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India and reports to the Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Design Build, Boeing Test & Evaluation India.Position Responsibilities:This position will be responsible to support mechanical design and analysis of wide range of mechanical components and products of various aircraft test programs.Develops, maintains and modifies test parts and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.Supports supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.This position will be responsible for communicating regularly with team members in Boeing organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within Boeing and external partners.This position will participate and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor or Master from an accredited university in engineering preferably in Mechanical / Aerospace / Aeronautical is required as a basic qualification along with 5 to 9 years of relevant work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in CAD Tools (AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, Unigraphics/NX) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential and PLM software (Enovia, Teamcenter).Generative shape design, Part design, Assembly design, Sheet metal design, Tubing, Drafting. VB scripting would be added advantage.Knowledge and deep understanding of state-of-the-art technologies, processes, procedures and regulations related to test and evaluation.Model Based Definitions, Digital Mockup Unit, VB scripting would be added advantage.Drafting: Proficiency in drafting standards (ANSI Y14.5M-2009), GD&T, design for manufacturabilityDesign: Awareness of different materials used in aerospace industry and related finishes & coating processes.Analysis: Computing & documenting interface loads using classical methodsGeneral awareness of different instruments such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, strain gages, data loggers, etc. and their design, performance and integrationKnowledge in design of flight test instrumentation, experimental models, mechanisms, prototypes, test rigs and fixtures.Knowledge of NASTRAN, PATRAN, Hyper mesh, and Manufacturing systems will be an advantageKnowledge of structural design, mechanical design, stress analysis, material properties, awareness of Industry standards for structural and mechanical design.Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment. Also should be able to work independently, guide and train othersPro-actively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.Knowledge in Geometric dimension and tolerance (ASME Y14.5-2009).Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English.Awareness of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management system. Internal auditor certification would be added advantage.Typical Education & Experience:Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor\'s and 7 or more years\' experience, Master\'s degree with 5 or more years\' experience or PhD degree with experience.
