Job Description


General DescriptionResponsible for executing advanced crop development strategies, with a focus on wheat varietal improvement, innovative sowing practices, farm mechanisation, soil health enhancement, crop residue management, regenerative practices and sustainability agricultural methods.RequirementsRoles & ResponsibilitiesCrop Development and sustainable agriculture

  • To work closely with targeted farmer network of the region and keep overall monitoring and detailed record/ data regarding crop practices ensuring Agri sustainability in the system. Design and conduct field trials to test new crop varieties, agricultural practices and new interventions
  • Cultivate strong relationship with key stakeholders viz. farmers, internal teammates, research institutions and universities to stay updated on the latest advancements in crop development and integrate them into the companyxe2x80x99s business need through overall produce from fields.
  • Strong data analysis skill, MIS generation and sharing in close loop with HQ
Wheat Development
  • Varietal Improvements: Conduct trials for different wheat varieties to assess yield, disease resistance, and suitability for local conditions.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data from field trials to determine the best-performing wheat varieties.
Maximize adoption of regenerative and sustainable practices- Implement conservation tillage practices like zero till, Happy seeder etc to maintain soil structure and health.- Focus on climate resilience approach for cultivation of wheat through Integrated Pest and disease Management, Leaf colour chart, Nano fertilizers, use of drones, IOT devices and remote sensing approach.
  • Demonstration Plots: to ensure fast adoption among the farmer, establish the demonstration plots to showcase the benefits of advanced sowing techniques, farm machineries and other proven advance intervention available time to time.
  • Farmer connect: Require to established a strong farmer connect through interaction, meetings, trainings and field days etc starting from pre sowing to final buying of the produce.
  • Soil Testing: Organize and conduct soil testing programs to assess soil health and fertility levels.
  • Nutrient Management Plans: Develop and implement nutrient management plans based on soil test results to optimize crop yield.
Organic Amendments: Promote the use of organic soil amendments, such as compost and green manure, to improve soil health.
  • Crop Residue Management through Development and promotions of methods for the effective utilization of crop residues, such as mulching and composting. Work with local authorities and agricultural organizations to advocate for policies that support sustainable residue management practices.
