Essential Job Functions
• Prepares the information on routine legal matters including briefs, contracts and leases, for smaller scope issues. Applies established company policies and procedures to review information compiled from various law sources.
• Prepares budget and performs other administrative functions of the organization with the consistent use of best practices and a high standard of professional excellence.
• Assists in implementing the company's short- and long-term strategies, regarding regulatory requirements, legal action and legal cases, as formulated by the management.
• Assists in implementing the legal department's goals and objectives.
• Coordinates activities, projects, and standard procedures of the legal group. Coordinates and interacts with various departments all levels of company attorneys, outside counsel, client counsel, and business unit personnel for legal matters.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Six or more years of legal, litigation, contracts, or directly related experience
• Experience working in a global organization of size, scope and complexity
• Experience with corporate litigation, and familiarity with mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and antitrust law and with lobbying and government relations and SEC compliance
Other Qualifications
• Good communication skills needed to interface with external agencies, members of executive operational and functional areas, and vertical/regional leaders
• Good strategic management and planning skills
• Ability to use own judgment and initiative in problem resolution
