Our creative professional customers love our products and use them to make the most awesome and inspiring photos, eLearning content, art, videos, and marketing pieces. Adobe is seeking a talented and energetic lawyer to support the Digital- Advertising, Learning & Publishing (D-ALP) business unit and products teams and manages the legal business matters pertaining to the organization. This position will work closely with product development, engineering, business strategy and marketing teams, as well as subject matter experts in Legal to provide counselling on a wide range of legal topics and to advance their business objectives while managing legal risk to Adobe. This full-time position will report to the Associate General Counsel. The Associate Legal Counsel (ALC) will be located in Noida, India.Responsibilities Include

  • Review the development of D-ALP products and initiatives to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice.
  • Draft and negotiate all types of technology licensing agreements, both in-bound and out-bound product and technology licenses including AI initiatives.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in Adobe Legal, including compliance, patent, privacy, and sales attorneys.
  • Support and build positive relationships with Adobes product development teams and advise multiple levels of management on legal issues.
  • Develop and deliver materials and trainings on Open Source, Privacy and Security to various internal groups, including engineering, program management, and sales legal.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with sales, finance, procurement, marketing, engineering, and business unit teams as necessary to support process transactions, to address corporate policies/processes and legal issues as they arise.
  • Additional responsibility may include support to Real Estate initiatives and day to day affairs for multiple sites across India.
  • Acts as advisor, or coordinates with external counsel, on legal issues including but not limited to the organization's data privacy, risk mitigation, and intellectual property.

Requirements
  • Candidate must have a law degree with 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with software and online services industry experience.
  • Proficient at negotiating and drafting all types of intellectual property agreements including in-bound technology licenses, out-bound product and technology licenses, development agreements, online services agreements, end user license agreement and terms of use for online services.
  • Expertise in privacy and data security issues and compliance is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with legal support for products and services, mobile app development strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with legal support for real estate will be preferred.
  • Technical background or a geek-level interest in software products and development preferred.
  • Candidate must possess a sense of humor and enjoy working on a team and with people at all levels in the organization.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to providing clients with high quality and timely legal advice and be flexible to take on different types of products and services and related work.
  • Must be able to exercise common sense to provide both practical and theoretical advice; must be a creative problem solver and have good business instincts.
