Ares is a leading participant in the global alternative credit markets with approximately $36.0 billion of assets under management (AUM) invested across multiple, actively-managed funds as of December 31, 2023. The Alt Credit Team today comprises over 70 investment professionals.Ares Alt Credit platform employs strategies that are asset-focused, making investments backed by assets and contractual cash flows such as loans, leases and receivables. Alt Credit fills gaps in the capital markets between credit, private equity and real estate, investing across a spectrum of liquid and illiquid opportunities that include various specialty finance sectors, net leases, structured products, cash flow streams (e.g., royalties, licensing, management fees), and other asset types. Alt Credit has a broad range of sub-strategies designed to be client-focused and solutions-based with three main formats: pure play, customized and flagship funds.The Associate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of investor relations for Alt Credit including, but not limited to, product development, marketing strategy, creation of marketing and due diligence materials for our Alt Credit business. The Associate will provide investor relations support for Alt Credit funds and separately managed accounts, including ongoing fund reporting, investor presentation support, investor information requests and market/competitor research analysis. The individual will have the potential opportunity to gain additional investor relations responsibilities within the team over time.The role supports key strategic priorities and provides a high degree of visibility to senior management and investors. The candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, quantitative and analytical skills, as well as strong writing capabilities.Primary responsibilities:The Associate will work to support the Alternative Credit Product Management and Investor Relations Team in providing information and expertise on firm strategies and funds to clients. The Associate will assist in producing fund reporting for investors on a monthly, quarterly and ad hoc basis, as well as assist in building new client materials and various prospect/marketing materials, as well as updating market and fund specific data within existing communications.To succeed in this role, an individual must possess a strategic orientation combined with strong analytical and writing skills. In addition, this person will be a conceptual thinker, creative, articulate and have the ability to understand and convey a variety of concepts at all levels.
