Overview of the Team
Temasek\'s Investment Group comprises the Sectors and Markets teams. This role is for the India Markets team that leads our investing, portfolio management, and divesting activities in India. The team works closely with our Sector teams based in Singapore to leverage their global sector domain knowledge. Our portfolio spans diverse industry sectors such as financial services; telecommunications, media & technology; transportation & logistics; consumer; real estate; energy & resources; life sciences and agribusiness.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Performing deal evaluation, due diligence, industry / company analysis and financial modelling, supporting the India investment team;
- Monitoring market trends and closely tracking existing portfolio assets to support investment / divestment making decisions;
- Constantly developing and renewing industry / sector knowledge as well as macro and regulatory changes;
- Identifying and assessing investment opportunities in companies spanning a wide range of industries and across capital structures;
- Establishing and cultivating relationships with companies, corporate partners and other relevant institutions.
Qualifications/Capabilities:
- Minimally, a recognised Bachelor\'s degree
- At least 1-2 years working experience with a top-tier private equity, investment bank, corporate finance, M&A or research firm;
- Strong analytical insight and spreadsheet modeling skills, as well as a strong understanding of financial statements to an intermediate level;
- Familiar with use of electronic data sources (e.g. Bloomberg, Factiva, etc);
- Desire to develop / maintain relationships with intermediaries and relevant institutions;
- Good communication, interpersonal & team skills;
- Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently.
