Description About this role What is the opportunity? We are recruiting for a newly formed Core Risk Management (Core RM) group, whose objective it is to advance risk management practices at BlackRock, delivering scale and resilience to the risk management platform. This opportunity is to join the Core Investment Risk Oversight team within Core RM, which will work with Investment Risk Managers and other BlackRock teams across the globe to enable efficient and effective governance and oversight of BlackRocks investment portfolios in accordance with Investment Risk Management policies and procedures. The team will be responsible for managing risk exceptions and delivering reporting and analysis across the various governance and management committees.Core RM is part of the Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group, which provides independent oversight of BlackRocks fiduciary and enterprise risks globally.What you will be doing?
Being a technical specialist within the Core Investment Risk Oversight team and working with the leads of Core Investment Risk Oversight to shape the future state of Core RM.
Leading engagement with investment risk managers and technology partners to centralize and re-engineer risk oversight processes within Core Investment Risk Oversight.
Design and deliver risk scanning algorithms in partnership with Investment risk and Core Risk Oversight (exception Mgt.) - allowing at-scale baseline risk management at BlackRock
Designing and upholding Core Investment Risk Oversight processes and procedures including RQAs SDLC principles, coding best practices, scalable Python library building - allowing at-scale on-demand risk oversight delivery to stakeholders - in line with best practices and policies of the firm.
Being accountable for the efficacy and accuracy of team output. Responding openly to feedback and initiating enhancements as processes mature.
Collaborating with other Core RM leaders to develop deep relationships with investment risk leads and technology partners globally. Understanding and aligning with their mission.
Consistently acting as a scale operator, driving efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation/ standardization efforts across the risk platform.
Consistently demonstrating the BLK principles, especially of One BLK and Emotional Ownership and infusing these principles through your pod.

4+ years of experience in a Risk Management, Engineering/Financial Engineering division in a financial services firm.
B. Tech / B.E. / Masters. degree in a quantitative subject area (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or similar area).
Relevant experience in programming languages primarily in Python and SQL is a must.
Experience working within Agile frameworks is a plus (including tooling such as Azure DevOps)
Experience with PowerBI and/orTableau is a plus
