The Water and Environment Practice within the Rivers Dam Maritime and Coastal (RDMC) Team in Bangalore is seeking a Group Engineer specializing in dams to deliver a range of infrastructure projects. RDMC offers comprehensive engineering services for diverse projects, including dam structures, river routing, coastal management, and port engineering. The role requires technical excellence, innovation, and a passion for overcoming complex challenges, ensuring projects are delivered sustainably and with cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Leadership: Lead and deliver dam projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are on budget and meet deadlines.
• Design and Analysis: Conduct and oversee technical design work following relevant standards and codes. Review design and assessment calculations, and detailed drawings.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities and preparing competitive bids.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of project work adheres to agreed standards and specifications.
• Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering technical knowledge and development.
• Innovation: Generate innovative digital solutions to engineering challenges, following through with implementation.
Requirements:
• Education: Possess a degree in Civil, Structural, or Hydraulics Engineering (MTech / MSc level advantageous).
• Experience: Demonstrated track record of delivering dam projects to time and budget, with collaborative work across disciplines.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant technical codes of practice and industry standards, including UK design standards and the Reservoirs Act.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in HEC RAS, Stadd Pro, AutoDesk Robot Structural Analysis, QGIS, and Flood Modeller.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills for engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional Certification: Achieved or working towards Chartered status with professional bodies like ICE, ISTRUCTE, or CIWEM.
• Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of making decisions independently. Flexible attitude towards work and responsibilities.
