Role : Associate General Counsel, Sustainable1 (Sustainability/ESG Services, Global support) Team : In this role, you will support the Head of Legal for the Sustainable1 (\'S1\') organization in advising the organization on a variety of Environmental, Social and Governance (\'ESG\') legal matters. You will counsel the Sustainable1 and Firm-wide legal and business teams on broad in-house legal matters concerning ESG, including, ESG and Sustainable Finance regulation, contracts negotiations and operations, development and implementation of best practices and governance, product development, marketing reviews, thought leadership reviews, media engagements, and general project management on legal projects. You will be a key partner to the broader Sustainable1 organization as well as to divisional legal, compliance, risk, government affairs, commercial, product, people, communications and business colleagues (including senior management) in addressing Sustainable1 specific and Firm-wide ESG related matters, as appropriate. The Impact : You are tasked with responding to internal client inquiries, providing valuable support in the handling of legal and regulatory matters, including trainings, negotiating, and drafting complex client and vendor contracts for sustainability-related financial information and analytical products and services, and assisting with special projects including development and execution of legal, contract, compliance, risk, communications, marketing and legal operations related policies and procedures. You will also be asked to support strategic partnerships and M&A as needed in partnership with cross-divisional legal teams, outside counsel, and Legal Head of M&A. Responsibilities: Legal experience with legal developments, laws, rules, regulations, and disclosure practices related to Sustainability/ESG services Experience providing advice and training with respect to privilege assertions and determinations associated with global Sustainability/ESG services\' legal support Familiarity with best-in-class Sustainability/ESG services\' practices and policies Ability to develop and implement solutions to identify, manage and mitigate risk to the Firm Assisting senior Lawyer and senior paralegal in developing, managing, communicating and training on appropriate policies and procedures, including in areas concerning ESG Scores and sustainable finance regulation, compliance, risk, anti-trust, marketing, privacy, and media requests/external communications. Negotiate and draft various contracts such as product licenses, vendor agreements, confidentiality agreements, complex partnerships, software licenses, and amendments. Participate in and/or lead projects, including due diligence activities related to acquisitions and divestiture. What We\'re Looking For: 3years+ PQE in business/legal affairs, preferably in-house, in a regulated business/financial services industry Prior experience operating within and supporting a regulated business Excellent EQ and interpersonal skills. You should be people oriented, collegial, and confident with frequent client-facing interactions (via e-mail, phone, and in-person). Has a can-do attitude, able to work under pressure, tight deadlines and to manage the expectations of clients and salespeople. Strong verbal/written communication and business writing abilities Ease with working independently but advancing issues as needed Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously Excellent organizational skills and attention to details Ability to work effectively in line with changing priorities Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Sustainability/ESG Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well as familiarity with a contract database-type system Project Management experience Prior experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
