Associate, Fundraising and Communications
Latika's Fundraising and Communications Associate needs to be a special kind of unicorn with excellent fundraising skills combined with a love and knack for growing our communities' social media. Our Fundraising and Communications Team (unofficial name: Latika FunCo for a reason) is small but fierce -- we're deeply committed to inclusion (and to having fun on the job!).
In this exciting role, you'll work closely with the Director, Fundraising and Head, Branding and Communications, to help strategize and drive Latika's fundraising efforts and build our social media presence, while making a real difference to India and the world we live in.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Relations and Reporting
• Work closely with our program and finance teams and M&E lead to create high-quality, engaging reports according to donor requirements and timelines. You'll analyze quantitative and qualitative data, add stories, and update our progress and challenges.
• Lead the reporting process from data collection to final reporting - project planning,
coordinating and aligning with programs, M&E, and finance to make sure we fulfil donor reporting commitments.
• Work with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Work with the Director, Fundraising, on donor renewals : Drafting proposals and completing due diligence for existing individual, corporate, and institutional donors.
• Help conceptualise and execute fundraising campaigns, experiences and events that attract new donors and help build deeper connections with our existing ones, such as planning visits to Dehradun, organizing employee volunteering opportunities, and curating unique touchpoints that inspire and delight donors.
• Develop clear and compelling communication materials that adhere to our brand guidelines, capture donor attention, inspire engagement, and broaden our reach: Drafts on behalf of the Director, Fundraising, presentations for meetings, narratives for updates, blog posts, and website, and fresh, creative content for campaigns.
• Conduct research , campaigns, and outreach to help grow our network of local supporters.
• Write funding proposals for potential donors in consultation with the Director, Fundraising.
• Produce due diligence submissions to new donors who collaborate with us as their NGO partner.
• Attend special events and network with potential donor sources.
Social Media
• Content Creation: Work closely with the Head, Branding and Communications, to develop engaging social media content, and assist in photo and video shoots to highlight our programs and initiatives.
• Audience Engagement: Manage and grow our social media presence and respond to inquiries.
• Campaign Development: Assist in planning and executing online and offline fundraising events and campaigns.
• Metrics Tracking: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of social media and fundraising efforts, using insights to inform future strategies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members to align communication strategies and ensure a consistent brand voice across all our platforms.
• Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to create social media content using tools such as Photoshop and/ or Canva, edit videos, and produce engaging reels, stories and other formats.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Develop a deep understanding of our work by actively connecting with our programs and mission.
• Step in with support on Latika activities or any special projects as required.
• Represent Latika at conferences and other networking opportunities as needed.
• Participate in research initiatives undertaken by Latika.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Graduate degree in any field.
• Two years of professional experience, preferably in an NGO, a client-facing or role that involves a lot of writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Great teamwork skills and the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
