Associate Field Service Engineer

You will be working as Associate Field Service Engineer and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore and deployed at Jamnagar/Vadodara at Customer Place. In this role you will be reporting to Service Manager. You will be primarily responsible for service delivery at customer location for field service / commissioning in power or process industrial plants.

Your responsibilities

  • Performing medium to high complex service tasks like installation, commissioning, maintenance and software updates and modifications on ABB automation (DCS/ PLC) and associated equipment used for process control & monitoring
  • Involving in development, programming, testing and validation of process control logics and application. Involved in performing preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution on ABB automation systems
  • Involving in delivering software and cyber security solutions on automation system. Involving in system auditing, reporting and corrective actions related to system up-keep and cyber security. Shall also impart project specific training to customers
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Developing and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understands their needs
  • Identifying new sales opportunities, supports customer in defining requirements for system upkeep, including spare parts, software, upgrades and optimization. Keeping updated on developments in technology and product and ensures high level of awareness on ABB solutions portfolio
  • Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities. Preparing standard lists for ease of work
  • Preparing and maintaining of maintenance check list and activity list. Preparing documents and procedures for system maintenance, standard operating procedures, backup and recovery procedures
  • Proactively identifying suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and implements them in consultation with all stakeholders
Your background
  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation engineering from a reputed university
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years of experience in Industrial automation, control & instrumentation areas
  • Experience in any of ABB automation platforms of symphony plus or 800xA and either of Advant or MOD DCS is preferred
  • Experience in field service / commissioning in power or process industrial plants is must
  • Programming, testing and commissioning experience in DCS or PLC systems
  • Should be willing to travel to customer places
