The Lead Software Developer is responsible for managing the analysis, programming and configuration of information technology (IT) systems software. This job advises developers on best methods of software development and code creation. Working with the leadership team, this job leads the execution of key divisional, departmental or cross-functional software development initiatives ensuring clear targets, goals and expectations are established, communicated and executed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitors development work to make sure resulting software meets established goals.
• Manages the identification of business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives for the information technology (IT) systems.
• Advises the development and implementation of new products, processes and operational plans.
• Manages the configuration, customization, diagnosis and enhancements of operating systems software.
• Oversees training of users within the organization on new.
• Manages performance of the direct reports through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of software development projects and engagement, motivation and development of the team.
• Works with functional leadership teams to ensure that the transition to new programs and implemented solutions is smooth and effective.

Nuveen is seeking a Lead Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Product Technology. Reporting to the Client Technology Lead in India, the role is responsible for driving the end-to-end product engineering capabilities to support the growth and transformation of the business.

In building and setting up a world class engineering delivery capability, the Lead Engineer will be a technology change agent in the organisation and will drive the steps to build our agile and best in class teams across the globe. Special focus will be on building capabilities utilizing micro-UI and micro services based architecture and build out applications and processes improving operational efficiency, using industry best practices, as well as aligning these to enterprise services.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

Tech and Data

• Develop and implement an ambitious technology strategy and roadmap leveraging new technologies to launch new products and support ongoing products
• Responsible for strategic leadership of engineering and delivery execution for technology and data solutions across the publics and private markets portfolios
• Lead product engineering teams globally, Proficient in full stack development on the following areas:

• Java (version 8 and above), J2EE,
• React,
• On Prem & Cloud Databases, SQL, PL/SQL
• AWS Services (ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, NoSQL Database, IAM, IaaS, Cloud formation/Terraform etc.,)
• OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Knowledge of Data Engineering Practices to adhere to Enterprise Data Strategy principles.
• Working with our product teams create and manage a best in class roadmap which drives the leverage of new technologies with data at the core supporting client outcomes \xe2\x80\x93 custom built and Protech solutions
• In partnership with the Technology Product Leads, generate excitement and buy-in for the technology and data outcomes quickly, addressing barriers to success
• As part of roadmap inform the build and partner decisions, and ensure these are funded, supported to enhance client deliverables and scale.
• Partner with colleagues across the enterprise and with external vendors to delivery best in class solutions - measuring success in terms of adoption, usage, improvements and industry recognition.

• Support the global product technology leadership to increase market-share and margin through technology
• Implement a process for continuous improvement, lower costs to serve and improving margins
• Develop and deliver scalable solutions that can be applied to clients and the business

• Lead a world-class team of experienced engineering and delivery experts within technology, data and business intelligence

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Proficient in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, cloud, data engineering
• Proficient in multiple infrastructure, cloud, mobile and network technologies
• Agile proficient
