The person will be responsible for timely and accurate process run and governance around adherence to guidelines. This role will not only be accountable for payroll management, statutory compliance, data integrity, reporting and analytics, issue resolutions but also focus on leading a high performing team and focusing on continues improvement. Critical processes like Background verification management, Vendor Management and tracking all statutory changes and evaluating their impact on R1 will be an integral part too.Key duties & Responsibilities:Payroll Management for India: Overseeing accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees and contractor resources, managing time and absence integration into attendance management and subsequent impact on payroll, managing gift taxation policy. Driving the right employee experience in alignment with the R1 culture and values.Managing and ensuring statutory compliance adherence for R1 India: Ensuring compliance for R1 with respect to different state specific laws related to payroll and employment taxes. Collaborating with HR/Finance/Tax etc. team as may be deemed necessaryBackground Verification process run: BGV is a critical process for success of R1 Operations. Managing the process seamlessly within the defined TAT and guidelines laid down for the organization is imperative.MIS Management for Employee Services Team: Since HR Operations and Payroll both functions are transaction heavy with zero tolerance for scope of error or misses due to high impact and visibility - the role demands strong governance and auditing principlesVendor Engagement and Management: As a team we engage with vendors for providing BGV services, payroll execution and statutory filing, tracking and evaluating statutory laws applicable for the organization and hire contractual workforce where deemed fit to deliver the BAU deliverables. This role will manage the relationship with the stakeholders and assure appropriate level of engagement to have seamless delivery for R1.Qualification :Bachelors degree - Any streamMBA or equivalent postgraduate in HRAny professional certifications will be an added advantage however not mandatoryMin Experience Required:14+ Years of relevant experience in payroll run, managing statutory compliances, data handling and insights and operational excellence in background verification processes.Experience and knowledge of different statutory compliances applicable per state in India from payroll perspective.Designing and evaluating a background verification process for an organization meet business needsMust have Skills:1. Passion for managing data and driving analysis and governance within the team2. Extensive experience in running payroll process for 10,000+ employee base across India and in depth understanding of applicable statutory compliances and norms3. Understanding of Background verification processes and associated compliances to be able to partner strategically4.Understanding of a HRIS tool and bent towards technology. Workday knowledge is preferred but not mandatory5. Good communication and stakeholder management skillsGood to have Skills:1. Experience is managing complex project delivery along with ideation capability of thinking end to end2.
