Position Summary The position is for accountable planning and execution of Downstream Process Development, scale-up, technology development, IP arret creation as well as technology transfer, team management, and lab management. What You Will Do Will be responsible for planning and monitoring of Downstream Process execution/deliverables for all department projects. Designing new process strategies for better product formation Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. May make major contributions to scientific literature and conferences. Review of development reports, TTD, BPR, SOP, EOP, IOP and technical presentations. Accountable for scale-up and technology transfer in the pilot/manufacturing plant of all departmental projects. Lab management: Accountable for maintaining the downstream equipment\'s qualification and training to team members/ team leads. Cross-functional communication and monitoring of progress status (of team members) with internal and external vendors/clients for technical queries. Maintain environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements always in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety. Collaborating for the troubleshooting of technical problems Work experience in downstream processing in a biotechnology company or CMO is a strong advantage. Mentoring the team members/leads Protein purification expertise, preferably recombinant proteins in microbial hosts (Pichia, fungi etc.). Purification of small molecules of industrial relevance an added advantage. Responsible for downstream process scale-up and technology transfer Process development using DoE approach awareness about Quality by Design (QbD) Responsible interpretation of analytical and process data, conclusion, and decision making In-depth knowledge of downstream processing techniques like chromatography, filtration and TFF Education, Experience & Other Requirements Ph.D. with 12+ years of experience; M Tech/ M Sc with 20 + years of Experience (Biotechnology or with similar stream) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent team player, team management and multitasking Strong commitment and dedication towards work, enthusiasm, motivation, and persuasive ability in a team. Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills, attention to detail, proactive and self-starter. Work in a dynamic, ambiguous environment with a timeline.
