Job Title: Associate Director Clinical CodingCareer Level - EIntroduction to Role:Are you ready to take the next step in your career? As an Associate Director of Clinical Coding, you will be at the forefront of overseeing clinical coding for ongoing clinical studies with medium scope and complexity. You will be responsible for the delivery of clinically-sound high quality clinical coding for all clinical coding utilized for data submissions to regulatory agencies. This position will support the development of infrastructure and governance required for supporting the clinical coding Phase I-IV clinical research in collaboration with other associated functions within AstraZeneca.Accountabilities:As an Associate Director of Clinical Coding, you will serve as the expert of clinical coding dictionaries and clinical coding process. You will be responsible for the strategy, planning and overseeing of outsourced clinical coding activities by ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high quality of coded data across all therapeutic areas. You will lead support for Medidata CODER tool testing during internal study builds, URL configuration, study maintenance, data cuts, and data locks. You will also be responsible for ensuring clinical coding activities are in adherence with Clinical Data Management best practices.Essential Skills/Experience:

  • University or college degree in the life sciences or pharmacy, nursing or equivalent relevant degree
  • Proficient knowledge of clinical coding process
  • Experienced in using MEDDRA and WHO-DD coding dictionaries
  • Overall knowledge of different therapeutic area
  • Demonstrate understanding and experience in query management process
  • Ability to work flexibly on simultaneous projects and proactively manage time to meet own deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a global team environment
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • MedDRA Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with external partners
  • Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to manage complexity and change in a dynamic environment
