The Data Catalogue Associate is responsible for the systems, business rules and processes which ensure data is findable, accessible and fit for use by one or more business units. The role achieves this through the capture of metadata and development of the data catalogue.Typical AccountabilitiesData CatalogueSupport the Data Catalogue Principal to define Information Asset Registers across business areas to help profile information risk/value.Capture and maintain comprehensive metadata for all data assets, including data lineage, quality, and dependencies.Develop and maintain automated workflows for metadata capture, validation, and enrichment.Continuously improve data cataloging workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and scalability.Identify and catalog data assets across various data sources, including databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.Classify data based on its sensitivity, relevance, and usage to facilitate efficient data management and access controls.Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and priorities.Implement metadata tagging to enhance data discoverability and usability.Support compliance audits by providing accurate and up-to-date metadata documentation.Work with data stewards and business users to enrich catalogue entries with business data dictionary, business rules, glossaries.Execute monitoring controls to assure metadata quality remains at a high level.Education, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssential:Demonstrable experience of working in a data management, data governance or data engineering domainStrong analytical skills and technical acumen.Proven experience with Data Catalogue, Search and Automation software (Collibra, Informatica, Talend etc).Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and in alignment with AZ business.Solid understanding of metadata harvesting methodologies and ability to create business and technical metadata sets.Strong communication skills, including excellent organizational and presentation skills.Proficient with common business applications (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint & SAP business user)Desirable:Experience with digital, multi-channel, and omni-channel marketing.Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge.Experience using data quality profiling and monitoring tools.Experience of working in a complex global organization.Data catalogue solutions e.g., Collibra.WHY JOIN US?We\xe2\x80\x99re a network of high-reaching self-starters who contribute to something far bigger.
