Job Description

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Global Sales - India Market, will lead and oversee the strategic direction and execution of Shangri-La's sales operations within the India market. This leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding the brand presence, and strengthening relationships with key clients, travel partners, and corporate accounts across India. The AVP will also work closely with global and regional sales teams to ensure alignment with Shangri-La's corporate objectives, enhancing market share, and elevating the customer experience across all properties.



Responsibilities



Strategic Sales Leadership:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the India market to maximize revenue and market share across all Shangri-La properties.

Drive top-line revenue growth, ensuring alignment with Shangri-La's overall corporate goals.



Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, corporate clients, travel agents, and wholesalers in India.

Manage high-value accounts, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction at every touchpoint.



Team Leadership & Development:

Lead and motivate a high-performing sales team to achieve targets and deliver results.

Set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching to the sales team to ensure optimal productivity.



Revenue & Budget Management:

Oversee the sales budget for the India market, ensuring proper allocation of resources to maximize ROI.

Monitor sales performance, set KPIs, and adjust tactics as necessary to meet financial and operational goals.



Brand Building & Market Positioning:

Promote Shangri-La's brand values and enhance its position as a premier luxury hotel brand in India.

Drive local marketing campaigns in alignment with global sales strategies to increase visibility in the target market.



Cross-functional Collaboration:

Partner with Marketing, Revenue Management, Operations, and other departments to ensure cohesive strategies are executed seamlessly.

Provide feedback and insights from the India market to help shape new product offerings and enhance guest experiences.



Experience



At least 10-12 years of experience in hotel sales or hospitality management, with a proven track record in leadership roles.

A minimum of 5 years of experience managing sales teams and driving results in the Indian market.

Strong understanding of the luxury hospitality industry, corporate travel, MICE, and leisure segments.

In-depth knowledge of the Indian market, including key players, trends, and consumer behaviour.
