Position Purpose
Investment Reporting and Performance (IRP) team is a department of BNP Paribas Securities Services providing investment performances and reporting services to Asset Managers and Institutional clients. Services provided by IRP include state of the art performances and risks calculations delivered on line or through wide range of reports (accounting packs, Factsheets, Investment reviews) or data feeds.
Services include, but not limited to, the following:
1. Investment Performance Measurement and Reporting
2. Portfolio Structure analysis / investment reporting
3. Performance Attribution analysis
4. Ex-ante Risk Solutions
5. Solvency II reporting
6. Asset & Liability Investment Analytics (ALIA)
7. Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG)
IRP Project
Every product has to go through changes during its lifecycle to be technologically and operationally relevant to the clients as well as meeting or exceeding industry standards. The new project is conceived to standardize some of our core offerings (L1-L3) while allowing our resources to be innovative in new value-added solutions (4-7).
Responsibilities
IRP Project team is a team of experts from across all IRP end to end streams starting from Acquisition, Calculation and Reporting (Static and Dynamic) and with a mix of Operations, Business Analyst and Implementation experts.
The core activity lies in understanding the client requirements and transitioning the clients from legacy IRP platform to a new platform successfully. The challenges could range from gaps in data availability in legacy platform, calculation methodology gaps, and logistical issues among others.
The role is diverse, demands the expertise of client reporting and investment performance functions.
The individual will be responsible for both the migration and validation of various reports such as Accounting Reports, Investment Reports, Performance Reports, Risk Reports, and Attribution etc.
The role majorly requires timely and prompt coordination and communication with various stakeholders in Chennai and Paris.
As a Project Team Member, you will be in charge of the following,
Main Responsibilities:
\xc2\xa1 Ideal candidate \xe2\x80\x93 50% Client Migration, 30% BA activity, 20% Perf Calc & validation
\xc2\xa1 Client Migration in IRP can range from setting up funds and benchmarks, loading the client data, setting up client funds, setting up calculations, designing Reporting templates into existing systems in coordination with other team members
\xc2\xa1 BA activity can involve writing requirements for solution changes, scripts or demo documents, user guides for operations, support manuals among others
\xc2\xa1 Perf Calculation Validation can mean comparison between the legacy and new platform calculations and analysis of any gaps noticed based on the migrated clients. Also communicating with the management on the gaps and supporting on the resolution of the same.
\xc2\xa1 Propose and advise about the feasibility and suitability of possible solution to optimise Performance reporting
\xc2\xa1 Conduct Meetings with multiple locations to understand the need and report the progress on the agreed services.
\xc2\xa1 Understand all areas of IRP, and IRP systems, and where appropriate develop specialist expertise to manage the Support, Change Requests, Projects and Client Onboarding
\xc2\xa1 Recruitment, Training, People Management, Resource Planning, Addressing the Interpersonal issues, Team building etc.,
\xc2\xa1 Understand all areas of IRP and IRP applications, develop cross-functional expertise to own the support issues and define a quick solution for issues and productivity improvements
\xc2\xa1 Ability to analyse the issues, identify the root cause, summarize the analysis and present it to the Management.
\xc2\xa1 Demonstrate strong managerial, analytical and problem solving skills
\xc2\xa1 Work with performance analysts to propose improvements to current production processes
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
Knowledge and experience of Investment Performance Calculation (L1, L3) and/or Portfolio Accounting methodologies
Experience and /or aspiration to work in a Project role in a demanding environment
Working experience or a passion for Business Analysis, Platform Migration and Client Onboarding
IRP Industry standard applications such as Factset B-One, StatPro or similar is an added advantage
Practical knowledge of SQL
Strong understanding of financial markets, investment management and asset management
Understanding on performance measurement, performance attribution analysis, and calculation methods.
Understanding of Bloomberg, Reuters
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic Excel and VBA skills
