Job Description


Currently there is an opening with a leading airline for an AVP - Bangalore, South, Cargo unit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure all legal documentation required to setup the new station in coordination with external legal bodies, vendors, claim settlement analysis and corrective measures and provide short- and long-term infrastructure requirements.

- Supervision of the cargo operations and safety activities of the region (including Charter Operations).

- Ensure availability of the trained manpower in the region.

- Ensure compliance with both regulatory and internal requirements.

- Responsible for Cargo Budgets, revenue and expenditure, monitoring CarGo external service providers systems for the region, liaising with govt. authorities / customs / CUT for the region, setting up of the new station under the region.

- Manage operations, safety and compliance to statutory requirements of all the stations under the region.

- Responsible to meet the Region\'s Sales Target set by the Management.

- Establish and enhance distribution network, service the distribution network through promotional activities.

- Liaise with direct clients to ensure repeat sales & improve station yield by developing high yield commodities, monitor sales team of the station / cluster

- Perform continuous market research with the focus on future growth opportunities & gathers market information on competition.

- Responsible for achieving the set revenue targets through efficient and systematic distribution of air-way bills and identifying resources to improve bottom line.

- The position requires being aware of and complying with his / her safety responsibilities and accountabilities as laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objective

Reporting: To the Vice President - CarGo, Domestic and CCO - Cargo International

Location: Regional Office at Bengaluru

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Required Education : Graduate

Experience : 20 plus years of in CarGo Sales & Operations experience (AVP)

Prior experience in Airline / Freight forwarding / Logistics would be preferred

In depth knowledge of Cargo market (both domestic and international) and products, ability to lead the team.

Skills : Good interpersonal and presentation skills, Ability to lead large teams
