Job Summary

:

The Department of Mathematics at NIILM UNIVERSITY invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor in Mathematics. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and academic service at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and the candidate will be expected to teach courses in mathematics, conduct research in their field of expertise, and participate in university service.

Key Responsibilities

:

Teaching

: Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Mathematics, such as Calculus, Algebra, Analysis, and specialized courses depending on the candidate's expertise. Develop, design, and update course materials and syllabi. Engage in interactive, student-centered teaching and provide mentorship to students. Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing timely feedback to students. Supervise students' research projects, theses, and dissertations as appropriate.

Research

: Conduct original research in Mathematics and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and students on various research projects. Pursue external funding opportunities for research and contribute to the research community.

Service

: Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university events. Contribute to the development of academic policies and curriculum design. Engage in professional development activities, including attending conferences and workshops. Provide academic advising to students and support student extracurricular activities related to Mathematics.

Qualifications

:

Education

: A Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required. Strong academic record and research experience in an area of mathematics that complements or enhances the department's current strengths.

Experience

: FRESH DOCTORATES MAY ALSO APPLY. Teaching experience at the university level (preferably as a graduate teaching assistant or instructor) is highly desirable. Demonstrated research productivity in Mathematics through publications in reputable journals is preferred. Strong knowledge of contemporary developments in the field of mathematics. Thesis Submitted candidates may also apply.

Skills

: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to teach complex mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse educational environment.
