Job Title: Assistant Professor in Computer Science

Position Overview:

The Department of SEAT at BEST Innovation University is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of Assistant Professor in Data Science. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service activities within the department, with a focus on advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of data science.

Responsibilities:

Teaching:

Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in data science, covering topics such as data analysis, machine learning, statistical methods, data visualization, and related areas.

Create engaging and innovative instructional materials, assignments, and assessments that promote active learning and critical thinking among students.

Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on academic and career-related matters.

Research:

Conduct high-quality research in data science, with a focus on advancing the frontiers of knowledge in the field.

Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences and other academic forums.

Seek external funding opportunities to support research activities and collaborate with colleagues and students on interdisciplinary research projects.

Service:

Participate in departmental and university service activities, including serving on committees and contributing to curriculum development and assessment efforts.

Engage with the broader academic and professional community through involvement in relevant professional organizations, outreach activities, and other service-oriented initiatives.

Contribute to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department and across the university community.

Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated expertise in data science methodologies, techniques, and tools, with a strong foundation in both theoretical principles and practical applications.

Evidence of excellence in teaching, such as prior teaching experience, course evaluations, curriculum development, or teaching awards.

A record of scholarly achievement, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at academic conferences.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Prior experience in securing research funding and supervising graduate students (preferred but not required).
