Mission:

The mission of the position "Assistant Professor" at Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology is to contribute to the Institute's goals of excellence in education and research. This includes fostering a stimulating learning environment, advancing innovative research, and preparing students to become leaders in the biotechnology industry. Job Responsibilities: Academics

• Teach students at Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels in areas allocated by the Head of Departments as per the curriculum.
• Assist in the development of learning/instructional materials and syllabus enrichment by providing additional knowledge resources to students.
• Deliver quality teaching using participatory and innovative methodologies.
• Monitor students' sincerity and regularity through the Guru Shishya Parampara (GSP) system.
• Plan, design, and manage regular lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical, and internal assessments.
• Undertake responsibilities related to pre-university examinations, including invigilation, question paper setting, and evaluation/assessment of answer scripts and practical examinations.
• Support weak students through the Academic Support Program (ASP) by handling queries, complaints, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives, and ensuring resolution follow-up.
• Maintain own continuing professional development and participate in training activities.

Research & Development • Submit major and minor research projects to various state/national funding agencies for financial support.
• Participate in the institute's R&D activities by formulating and conducting independent research projects from ideation to execution, sponsored by external funding or internal mural grants.
• Provide research guidance to students, planning and executing dissertations/theses for undergraduate and postgraduate students, following good laboratory practices (GLPs) and ethical guidelines as prescribed by the Internal Research Scientific Committee (IRSC).
• Complete projects leading to high-impact factor publications (research/review papers) with SCI scoring, to disseminate research findings.
• Share knowledge by participating (self/students) in national or international conferences and workshops of relevance under the amalgamated fund policy promotional scheme.
• Plan and execute state/national hands-on workshops and seminars in relevant fields.
• Develop action plans to expand and upgrade laboratories with new techniques and advanced equipment and instrumentation.
• Interact with key personnel and collaborate through personal networking to strengthen the department.
• Share responsibilities as equipment in-charges (as assigned) with research assistants and lab assistants to maintain logbooks and laboratories.

Industrial Biotechnology Training

• Assist in conducting standard and specialized training modules in relevant fields, with continuous monitoring and assessment of students, in line with the Institute's objectives.

Qualifications:
? M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences & CSIR-NET-LS/ SLET qualified (mandatory) with Ph.D. in Life Sciences (preferred)• Demonstrated expertise in a specific subfield of biotechnology.
• Proven track record of research accomplishments, including publications and presentations.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for effective teaching.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a diverse academic community.
