A Merchandising Assistant is responsible for assisting the Merchandiser in ensuring that a retail company's products are available and displayed in the right place, at the right time, and at the right price. They work closely with the buying team to identify trends and plan product ranges, as well as with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure orders are delivered on time. Merchandising Assistants also help with stock allocation and distribution, analysing sales data and market trends to make sure that the right amount of stock is in the right place at the right time. Additionally, they play a key role in marketing the products to customers, creating displays and communicating promotions to increase sales.
