The ideal candidate will be able to provide an educated point of view on local consumer needs as well as market dynamics, cultural influencers and general trends as well as competitors intelligence. Use the latter insights to brief market-specific requirements, select regional line from the regional/ global lines, and develop assortments from the regional/ global line.

External stakeholder: Vendors, Retail, Channel, and online Sales partners
The Ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of merchandising principles and a basic financial acumen.
The skill to apply analytical thinking in order to spot opportunities through data.
Build and monitor apparel assortments according to regional needs for Womenswear
Execute and implement brand strategies
Spot market and business opportunities as part of the go to market calendar
Hands on timelines with regards to seasons, discounts, demographic challenge at hand, ability to translate consumer insights into right product offering across the Indian market
Keep track of sales and volume across Sales channels, retail outlets, SKU, EBO, Ecommerce etc
Execute seasonal line release activities
Identify and assist in developing quick response products
Offer input to the brands annual plan
Stay informed on customer trends and what is selling both globally and regionally
Gain a complete understanding of competition and their pricing strategies for multiple markets
Participate in fit test and line adopt meetings
Analyze and interpret selling/ consumer data to inform the brief
Create the category brief with market-specific requirements
Collaborates with partners to execute the brand vision
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in related discipline (5+ years combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
Minimum 7 years direct Womens buying experience working at an apparel brand/ Large Retailer
Skills & Competencies (Technical)
Should possess ability to create assortments according to regional requirements
Should possess strong knowledge of global trends and the fashion industry locally and globally, would have had exposure through research and development travel globally.
Should possess knowledge of cost of goods
Should Possess Great retail/ Front end understanding
Should possess ability to do margin calculations
Should possess knowledge of the supply chain process and planning activities
Should possess ability to perform volume forecasting
Should be highly analytical with the ability to read and create financial spreadsheets
Should be able to work on problems of a diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Should possess proficiency with MS Office applications (Word & Excel)
Should have Strong project management, Analytical & numerical skills.
