Job Description


An assistant merchandiser responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing sales: Reviewing sales data and suggesting actions like ordering more stock, marking down prices, or putting items on sale
  • Managing stock: Monitoring stock levels and movements, and reporting on stock releases, returns, and new arrivals
  • Developing strategies: Creating pricing and merchandising strategies to meet sales targets
  • Communicating: Working with buyers, suppliers, stores, and distributors
  • Providing reports: Generating reports on sales, profits, and new merchandising concepts
  • Managing invoices and shipments: Processing and tracking invoices and shipments
  • Managing the merchandise admin assistant: Ensuring that the merchandise admin assistant\'s job is completed correctly
  • Attending meetings: Reviewing the previous week\'s sales and best and worst sellers at merchandising and trading meetings
