Job Summary

Himalaya Medical College and Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Matron to assist in overseeing the nursing services and ensure high standards of patient care. The Assistant Matron will support the Matron and work collaboratively with medical and administrative staff to maintain a nurturing and efficient healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care Management : Supervise and monitor nursing staff to ensure quality patient care and adherence to hospital standards.
• Staff Coordination : Assist in staffing and scheduling, ensuring adequate staff coverage across all shifts.
• Training and Development : Assist in conducting orientation programs and continuous training sessions for the nursing team to enhance patient care skills.
• Compliance and Safety : Ensure nursing practices adhere to hospital policies and government healthcare regulations, maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Patient Relations : Address and resolve patient and family concerns in a timely, empathetic manner.
• Inventory Management : Oversee the inventory and procurement of medical supplies, ensuring necessary resources are available for patient care.
• Quality Assurance : Conduct regular checks on hygiene, cleanliness, and overall functionality of patient areas.

Qualifications

• Education : Diploma or Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing or GNM).
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred.
• Certifications : Valid nursing license and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of healthcare protocols, infection control, and quality standards.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using medical and hospital management software.

Work Hours

This role requires flexibility in working hours, with the possibility of night shifts and weekends, as patient care needs demand.
