The Assistant Marketing Manager will support the Senior Marketing Manager through objective planning, development, and execution of annual marketing activity on designated product lists, portfolios, or channels; act as primary contact for the editorial group; ensure that objectives and targets are agreed, communicated across all relevant functions, monitored, and achieved. The role also entails creating the provision of marketing intelligence (through reporting and analysis) and engaging with the communities that surround our product and fostering relationships that contribute to the editorial and financial success of the list. Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, implement, and deliver marketing campaigns to agreed benchmarks and within agreed budgets.
  • Create marketing collaterals in support of campaigns, events, presentations, and conference attendance
  • Analyse and report on campaign results using the full suite of tools available
  • Liaise with colleagues in editorial, sales, and marketing to ensure plans are well communicated and coordinated across all relevant internal departments
  • Create and deliver presentations to internal and external customers that raise the profile of new/special products and create sales opportunities
  • Demonstrate market understanding to react positively to competitors and market developments.
  • Accountable for managing own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps.
  • Code the invoices accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Attend conferences and events, visit customers and end-users and act as a representative of the company. Produce summary conference reports and post-visit reports
  • Analyse and report on campaign and financial results using the tools available
  • Oversee staff to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion and to agreed benchmarks
  • Maintain monthly reports, budgets, and trackers as required
  • Investigate and build commercial opportunities
  • Create and augment event management to ensure that the objectives are met
  • Optimize social media opportunities to promote an online range of products
  • Support the team in the provision of required management information e.g. extracting and manipulating required data from systems for reporting
  • Accountable for managing own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps.
  • Representing Taylor & Francis externally, conducting oneself professionally at all times to maintain links with external stakeholders e.g. academic authors, editors, customers, potential partners, etc.


Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience in a marketing environment, understanding of the role of marketing and the implementation of marketing campaigns
  • Sales Experience/Knowledge
  • Knowledge and ability with IT systems including core MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), web/cloud-based databases, Salesforce.com, CMS, email creation platforms, and/or other bespoke IT systems.
  • Able to demonstrate commercial awareness – including the competitive environment, potential partner organizations, and market trends.
