Position Title: Assistant Manager - Seed StoragePosition Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location: LudhianaRequisition ID: 32084We are passionate about food. But were even more passionate about our People!As the Assistant Manager- Seed, need to oversee seed storage across multiple states, ensuring optimal quality through temperature, humidity, and pest control. Need to lead seed grading, manage dispatches and logistics, and spearhead cost-saving projects focused on automation and efficiency. By maintaining strong relationships with internal and external teams, analyzing data, and prioritizing safety, this position will be a key player in the successful seed supply chain.About the role:Storage Management:

  • Lead the selection and management of seed storage facilities across Gujarat, Punjab, and UP.
  • Oversee storage conditions, including temperature, humidity, and pest control, to ensure optimal seed quality.
  • Monitor seed inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize storage losses.
  • Regularly report on storage parameters and seed storage losses to management.
  • Conduct regular internal audits of storage facilities to verify adherence to established protocols and identify any compliance gaps.
  • Monitor seed inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize storage losses. Lead in conducting cycle counts of seed inventory at regular intervals to ensure accuracy and identify potential discrepancies.
Seed Quality Control:
  • Lead a team responsible for seed grading and shorting activities, implementing a documented quality control program that adheres to relevant seed quality standards.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for maintaining and improving seed quality.
Seed Dispatch Planning and Logistics:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for seed dispatches from storage facilities.
  • Conduct pre-harvest planning for seed production and oversee successful execution.
  • Manage logistics for seed deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
Project Management:
  • Lead and contribute to cost-saving projects within the Seed Supply Chain.
  • Atomization for seed grading / shorting / drying
  • Timely Seed Delivery to Growers
  • Identify new potential vendors to build storages / other infrastructure for seed.
  • Monitor / Execute the project.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as demand planner, contract farming team, quality control team.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as storage, transporters, manpower consultant. contract farming team, quality control team.
  • Analyse and interpret data to identify opportunities for improvement within the seed supply chain.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate seed inventory levels, storage conditions, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to seed storage and transportation.
Safety
  • Lead the safety program for seed.
  • Adhere to safe working practices such as working at height regulations.
  • Identify & report any unsafe working conditions & faults.
  • Insure foreign material free supply.
  • Co-ordinate with all storages to set compliance of McCain safety standards before start of work.
General
  • Keep workstation tidy & ready for drafting purpose
  • Undertake training and awareness sessions for self or subordinates as per needs identified from time to time
  • Perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by Ag. Supply Chain Manager.
About you:Academic:
  • Must have: Graduate in Agriculture / Commerce
  • Nice to have: Advance Diploma in Material Management
Professional/Technical Accreditations:
  • Must have: Knowledge of SAP, MS office (proficient in MS Excel) with internet & E-mail
  • Seed / Potato Storage Technical Know-how
  • Nice to have: Good knowledge of Food Safety and Fssai.
