Job Description


Prime Function:

\xc3\xbc Streamline the security Programme to safeguard the property.

\xc3\xbc To safeguard guests, visitors, employees and the property when in the premises.

\xc3\xbc Analyze the various problems confronting the Security Department & develop solutions.

\xc3\xbc Design & develop techniques to prevent or minimize waste, theft or pilferage.

\xc3\xbc Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures & ensure the same by the security team.

\xc3\xbc Any matter which may effect the interests of the hotel should be brought to the attention of the Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Planning

\xc3\xbc Identify the major facilities and security equipment requirements for the department and the property.

People Management

\xc3\xbc Provide effective support to the team to enable them to provide a range of effective and efficient services.

\xc3\xbc Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure personnel & guest satisfaction.

\xc3\xbc Ensure that the team has been trained for all safety provisions.

\xc3\xbc Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

Financial Management

\xc3\xbc Identify optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.

\xc3\xbc Submit Annual Security Operations & Capital budgets to the Director of Rooms.

Operational Management

\xc3\xbc Ensure to have a thorough knowledge of, the laws of arrest, search and seizure and with the investigation techniques in case of an inquiry.

\xc3\xbc Constant supervision of the team members.

\xc3\xbc Inspect the exhibits during conventions to ensure that, public safety and fire regulations are enforced.

\xc3\xbc Coordinate operations with Department Associates, Team Leaders and other Departmental Managers to ensure operational readiness, efficiency in resource utilization, and the prompt delivery of services.

\xc3\xbc Ensure to offer special protection to VIPs and Government Dignitaries.

\xc3\xbc Coordinate all investigations regarding theft or damage of property & personnel injury occurring within the premises with outside agencies & legal representatives.

\xc3\xbc Ensure that Daily Activity Report reflects a true account of all security activities that take place during the day.

\xc3\xbc Ensure to make clear and concise plans, while dealing with emergencies.

\xc3\xbc Ensure that fire prevention and safety procedures are maintained in all areas of the Ibis Kochi City Centre.

\xc3\xbc Ensure that all security operations are in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

\xc3\xbc Liaise with local Police, Fire Brigade and other Government agencies and maintain public relations with them to ensure their complete co-operation.

\xc3\xbc To handle guest complaints pertaining to security.

\xc3\xbc Ensure to abide by the mission statement of the hotel.

\xc3\xbc Ability to clearly delegate tasks and responsibilities;

\xc3\xbc Ability to think strategically, inductively, and creatively;

\xc3\xbc And the propensity to recognize and acknowledge other peoples\xe2\x80\x99 ideas.

Hygiene / Personal safety / Environment:

\xc3\xbc Ensures that the workplace and storage areas remain clean and tidy

\xc3\xbc Respects the instructions and safety guidelines for the equipment (s)he uses

\xc3\xbc Applies the hotel\'s security regulations (in case of fire etc)

\xc3\xbc Respects the hotel\'s commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc) and meets Ibis\' ISO 14001 environmental commitments as applicable to the role, if the hotel is involved in the programme.
