It has access immediate access to key markets in northwest India and the largest sea food export belt in India via road and rail, including direct electrified access to the Port Pipavav is a successful public-private enterprise, managed and operated by APM Terminals (Shareholding 43.01%).Positioned opposite two islands, which act as a natural breakwater, the port is safe in all weather conditions, even during the monsoon season, with wave heights less than 0.5m most of the time. During peak tidal conditions, water currents are between 2.5 to 3 knots. The channel length at the port is 4,550m. Due to favorable oceanographic conditions, the port offers day and night navigation to all vessels except LPG vessels (daytime only).APM Terminals Pipavav has Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Status from the World Customs Organization. As such, it can offer higher levels of efficiency and faster export-import services. AEO Certification means that the Terminals\' customers will experience fewer physical inspections of imported/exported goods, faster release of shipments, preferential treatment by Customs Authorities and deferred payment of duties.Key responsibilitiesAs an asst. Procurement Manager, your main responsibilities will be to manage the core day to day procurement activities and procurement projects at the terminal such as contracting, preparing for and performing negotiations, supplier management, analyzing spend to identify opportunities and drive procurement savings. You be responsible for creating annual procurement plans for the terminal and steering the cost in the right direction to execute those plans. You will be expected to perform your responsibilities using our global procurement processes and tools.What we offerThe position offers significant internal and external stakeholder management opportunity as well as an opportunity to engage with a broad international network. The role offers the opportunity to manage a very large spend base through a mix of local and global suppliers. You will have a strong global procurement team behind you helping with project management, system implementation, market analysis and tendering as well as category managers who lead projects within selected spend categories with you as their local representative. You will be expected to work in close collaboration with these global teams based in different parts of the world.Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant track record in procurement, supply chain management, project management
  • A good understanding of processes within purchasing and contracting (both domestic and import) and experience in implementing them
  • Accomplished project management skills to drive sourcing projects and the transformational part of the role
  • Efficient negotiation and contracting skills, effective stakeholder management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and competent presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries
  • Ability to navigate in large matrix organizations
  • A Bachelors or masters degree in Engineering, logistics, supply chain management is preferred
  • Ability to, independently and as part of a team, successfully complete assigned tasks with excellent result while meeting agreed deadlines
  • Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders efficiently
  • Willingness to travel to terminal monthly and supplier locations locally based on business requirements
  • Knowledge about six sigma tools & lean tools will be add on
