- Real Estate Accounting Function, Responsibility Level: Operations, Supervisor Global Grade: Grade 10 Position Summary PE/RE/REJV is a team handling Alternative Investment Finance Operations for various MetLife Line of Businesses. The team at GOSC handles Private Equity, Real Estate & Real Estate Joint Venture\'s Cash and Reporting activities. Activities help Controllers and the senior management in making business decisions. Applications used include PeopleSoft, Yardi/Investran(Sub-ledger) Hyperion and many internal MetLife Applications. Job Responsibilities Monthly/ quarterly accounting entries for various invested asset classes and investment vehicles (securities, mortgage loans, real estate and investment subsidiaries, Derivatives etc.) US GAAP. Accounting and reporting for any new acquisitions and disposal of Real Estate & Private Equities. Monthly and quarterly variance analysis and Analytics reporting. Preparation of Schedule BA and Asset Valuation report, Ledger and Sub-Ledger rec, BSC etc. Monthly and quarterly reconciliation for various invested asset classes and investment vehicles. Complete special requests and ad-hoc reports as requested. Plan workflow for all deliverables in advance of month/ quarter end. Reconcile various accounts, or reviewing reconciliations prepared by others, and promptly researching and correcting any variances. Run reports from various systems. Analyze and report interrelationships of financial information Support financial analysis/reporting and the integrity of financial data Document procedures and processes Support process improvement consistent with Lean initiatives Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education Commerce Graduate, CMA/CA Inter/CS or MBA from Recognized University. Additional qualification would be added advantage Experience Minimum 5-7 years of post-qualification work experience in relevant field is required Knowledge and skills (general and technical) Basic Knowledge of Accounting and Investments Team handling experience(if required by the profile) Communication skills - should be able to read, interpret business documents. Good oral/written communication. Analytical and interpersonal skills. Data gathering ability/ Eye for detail. Team work/ Managing Self / Adaptability. Knowledge about US Culture. Understand & operate MetLife Ability to work successfully in production driven environment. Adaptability to change. Ability to work on routine/standardized transactions. Good knowledge of General Accounting for incoming and outgoing of cash. Ability to understand Financial Statements, Capital Account Statements and Income Statement to process Fund Reconciliations. Ability to track cash through bank statements and bank portal. Good knowledge of Excel/MS Office to perform various monthly/quarterly Reports. Knowledge of Alteryx, macros would be added advantage. Ability to understand Cash Receipts and Cash Disbursement Notices and its accounting treatment. Other Requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training - if required) Not applicable Working Relationships Internal Contacts (and purpose of relationship): Unit Manager for the purpose of performance, escalation issues, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support Manager for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the team member and monthly evaluation of performance Associate Accountants for the purpose of seeking cooperation & clarification on process-related matters & providing assistance and support when required. Subject Matter Expert for the purpose of work thread related issues and escalated transactions.
